B12 deficiency in patients on PPI and H2 receptor antagonists

zDid you know that if you take drugs like omeprazole,nexium or even Pepcid or Zantac or like drugs 
You could develop  B12 deficiency.In a recent study published in reputed medical journal cites this problem.gasric acid is needed to ceave B12 from food for essential vitamins to be absorbed and it is produced by same cells that produce Intrinsic factor ,a compound necessary for B12absorption.
Thus anything that suppresses acid would give rise to B12 deficiency.Left undiagnosed and untreated
B12 deficiency is serious. It can cause dementia, memory problem,slowing,tingling and numbness of 
Handsand feet and fatigue,and neurological damage.
Don't worry. B12 deficiency can be treated with good B vitamin and or a B12 shot given intramuscularly.
Preferably ask for hydroxy or metyl  B12 .Try to stay away from cyanide in the popular cyanocobalamin.
